The source of inspiration for the ChG logo is the light phenomenon called a caustic curve.
It is defined as "a curve to which the ray of light, reflected or refracted by another curve, are tangents, the reflecting or refracting curve and the luminous point being in one plane".
This is often seen inside a coffee cup or inside a ring like the one to the right.
